Although both of these types of places have their advantages, there are several reasons why people should consider doing their business with these financial systems.

First of all, credit unions tend to be much smaller than regular banks. Knowing this, many people quickly turn away from these entities. That is because they believe the bigger the better. However, this is not always true. Because these particular institutions tend to be smaller, it allows people to build more personal relationships with the workers. So, when it comes to certain issues, the staff members may tend to be a little bit more lenient towards the customer. This is because they have formed somewhat of a friendship with them. In fact, some institutions only have one location. So this makes the opportunity for a customer and worker friendship more feasible.

Because credit unions tend to be smaller, it also makes it easier for customers to get in touch with those who have high positions in the company. When dealing with larger banks it is sometimes impossible to ever speak to the CEO or any of the supervisors or administrators. This is because many of these entities have hundreds and even thousands of staff members. So, they are able to put people in place to answer questions on behalf of those who may be in leadership positions.

However, when it comes to some credit unions, there may only be 50 staff members. So, someone may go in to one of these institutions and be able to speak directly to those who are truly in charge. This allows people to feel more connected with the institution. They also have a better chance of getting all of their questions answered and their issues resolved.

Another reason that people should look into these types of places is because customers are seen as shareholders. Therefore, they are treated more like family, than like actual customers. This is because the institution understands that anyone who has money invested into their entity is a partner. So anyone who conducts business with one of these places is usually treated as such.

Although, credit unions may not have the large number of locations or large number of staff members, they are still a great option for anyone who wants to have more of a connection with the institution that they place their money in. So, don't believe that just because something is smaller that it is somehow inferior.
