NORTH BAY, Ont. -- Carter Sandlak scored at 2:19 into overtime to lead the Plymouth Whalers to a 3-2 victory over the North Bay Battalion on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action. Sandlaks goal came on one of just 17 shots by the Whalers. Ryan Hartman opened the scoring for Plymouth (5-6-0) with a power-play goal 11:29 into the first period, and Danny Vanderwiel got the equalizer for the Whalers at 10:02 of the third. Dylan Blujus scored for the Battalion (6-6-1) in the second period, and Vincent Praplan put the home team in front early in the third. Alex Nedeljkovic made 33 saves for Plymouth, while Brendan ONeill made 14 saves for North Bay. --- ICEDOGS 7 67S 4 ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- Anthony DiFruscia had a natural hat trick in the second period to lead Niagara to its win over Ottawa. Carter Verhaeghe also had a big game for the IceDogs (4-4-2), as he opened the scoring with his ninth and tenth goals of the season, and added a pair of assists. Eric Ming and Jesse Graham got the other Niagara goals. Nevin Guy had two goals and an assist for the 67s (5-6-0). Ryan Van Stralen and Brett Gustavsen got the other Ottawa goals. Christopher Festarini made 24 saves for the Ice Dogs. Philippe Trudeau stopped 19 of 25 shots in nearly 35 minutes for Ottawa, while teammate Jacob Blair stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced. --- STORM 3 SPITFIRES 2 WINDSOR, Ont. -- Scott Kosmachuk scored his seventh goal of the season to lead Guelph over Windsor. Kosmachuks goal, scored at 13:51 of the third period, sealed the deal for the Storm (7-3-0) after the visitors had given up a two-goal lead. Pius Suter and Brock McGinn also scored for Windsor and Kosmachuk chipped in with an assist. Josh Ho-Sang had a goal and an assist for the Spitfires (4-6-0) and Kerby Rychel scored the other Windsor goal.
